How do I install the latest updates on my iPhone?

Now, more than ever, it is important to keep up to date with software updates.

These updates are essential to maintain security and keep everything working, even if you feel like you "never use that app" or "only updated the other day"! Old versions of apps and operating systems (OS) are used by hackers to as weakspots to potenitally attack your device.

Here at Solve-IT we want everyone to be safe online, and have got some handy screenshots to help you keep up to date on your iPhone!

Software Updates

First, find your Settings, this is the icon that looks like a cog:

Now you will see the below menu, tap General

Once you're in the general menu, the '1' means there is an update to be done.

It will check again for any extra updates:

Then it will present you with the below:

Simply press Download and Install and your iPhone will do the rest of the work for you!

App Updates

It is really important to keep your Apps up to date too!

Find your App Store Icon (below)

If there are updates to be done, there will be a red circle and a number showing the number of updates required.

Tap the picture (this may be a picture you have already set up on your iPhone so may be a generic image, or a picture you have already chosen)

This shows you this screen and you can install all your updates from here:

It is important to note that you won't be able to use the Apps that are updating while they are being updated.
